Clelia just landed on my radar with her new single “Holy Water”. The song is a part of her album “io io” and I didn’t expect it to stay with me the way it did. I first played it last night. I was just scrolling and half-paying attention and then the chorus hit and I stopped what I was doing. I just kind of sat there and let it loop once more. That’s usually how I know a song is doing something right.
Her voice is pure and soft. Like she’s figuring things out as she goes. There’s no big moment where she tries to push it higher or louder. She keeps it steady and that actually pulled me in more. It feels close, like she recorded it sitting a few feet away.
The chorus is the hook here. It’s simple, but it sticks fast and that’s what I love. I caught myself repeating it the next morning (didn’t even notice I was doing it at first). That kind of thing doesn’t happen to me a lot.
The instrumental is stripped back. It gives her lyricvs room, and honestly, the writing carries a lot of the weight. I’ve had it on repeat a few times now, and it still lands the same. I don’t think this is one of those songs I’ll forget in a week. It’s already sitting in my daily playlist and I don’t see it leaving anytime soon. Cheers!
