I’ve heard Hollow Shift before, so this new single didn’t feel like meeting them from scratch. There’s already a sense of familiarity in how they build their tracks. The new single “Electric Gloom” pulled me in pretty quickly and I found myself hitting repeat over and over. The way the synths move alongside the drums is tight. It’s almost like they’re locked into the same line and the guitars are amazing and add a bit of edge without taking over.
The energy here doesn’t spike in a loud or dramatic way. It’s steady and fits the mood of the track. The electronic layers carry most of the weight and you can tell a lot of care went into how each sound sits in the mix. The vocal effects are polished and the production sound professional.
The delivery is great and keeps things grounded. The vocals are confident and match the tone of the track. I found myself focusing more on how everything blends together rather than anything else.
Coming from Greece, the duo clearly has a strong sense of direction in their sound. There’s a clear identity in how they approach their music and this single continues that path I honestly enjoyed listening to this. It’s the kind of track I can play again without skipping around and it sits well when you just let it run from start to finish.
