The Tennessee Werewolves – Rise Up

I just discovered this amazing track “Rise Up” by The Tennessee Werewolves. It drops you right in the middle of it with loud guitars moving, drums hitting hard and no warning. I actually checked my volume in the first few seconds because it felt like it jumped out of nowhere.

I like when a track commits to that level of noise and doesn’t pull back and that’s exactly what happens here. The guitars stay heavy the whole way through, not just in the intro. They grind forward and keep that same pressure on you. The drums follow that energy, tight and constant, no space to relax.

I really liked the mix between the voices. There’s that rough and almost shouted delivery and then you get a more controlled line layered in. It’s not clean and not polished, it’s a bit rough around the edges but that actually works better for this kind of genre. It fits the mood they’re going for.

The chorus is amazing and the whole track is dark and loud. I wouldn’t play this casually in the background. It demands attention and I love it. Honestly, it worked best when I let it run loud and didn’t interrupt it. I ended up replaying it right after it finished. It’s not subtle and it doesn’t need to be. It knows exactly what it is and it sticks to it.
