Lana Karlay – Running Out of Time

I found “Running Out of Time” by Lana Karlay almost by accident. It popped up late at night while I was clicking through a few new releases. The kind of random listening session where you’re not expecting much. Then this song started and I remember leaning back in my chair thinking. Okay… who is this?

Lana has a pure pop voice. The kind that sits right at the center of the track without fighting the music around it. The instrumental is kept simple which was a smart move. Soft keys, a steady beat and plenty of open space. The production lets the voices carry the weight of the song. You can tell producer Esthy understood exactly what the track needed and didn’t try to complicate it.

The feature from cam’dn adds a lot. His tone blends well with Lana’s. It’s like the song was built around the idea of two voices meeting in the middle. When he comes in. The track shifts slightly. It’s more like another layer of the same feeling. Their chorus together is my favorite part.

The song circles around that moment when you realize someone matters more than you expected. Lines about time slipping away and wanting to hold onto something before it disappears carry the whole track. The writing is direct and easy to connect with which honestly works better than something overly poetic here.

The melody are catchy and kept pulling me back. Moves slowly but sticks in your head after the song ends. I caught myself humming part of the chorus about ten minutes later without even noticing. It’s also kind of wild to think Lana Karlay is only seventeen. There’s a calm confidence in the way she delivers the song that many artists take years to develop.

This is is the kind of pop track that doesn’t try to shout for attention. It just sits there. It’s steady and emotional and slowly pulls you in. I have a feeling Lana Karlay is a name we’re going to keep hearing about. And honestly. I’m already looking forward to whatever she releases next.
