Serpico – Dressed In Flesh

I only discovered Serpico this week and their album “Dressed In Flesh” ended up taking over my speakers for a few days straight. It’s 9 tracks of straight-up hard rock that are focused and confident. Their music is real and not trying to chase trends. The production is professional and clean but still hits hard. So every riff and drum fill lands with weight.

The rhythm section was the first thing that pulled me in. The bass isn’t buried. It moves the songs forward and the drums have that punch that makes you tap your foot without thinking. The guitars do a lot of the talking, shifting between chunky riffs and sharp solos that are earned and powerful. A couple of leads made me rewind just to hear how they finished a phrase.

The singer brings a gritty edge that suits the music well. There’s strength in the delivery, especially during the choruses. Which stick after one or two listens. The melodies stay in your head longer than you expect. It reminds me of being near the stage at a small venue where everything is loud in the best way and you can feel the air move when the kick drum hits.

The album is an amazing experience and I love it. For a band that just entered my orbit. This was a strong introduction. and honestly. I’m already hoping there’s more coming.
