London-based Hungarian singer, producer and sound designer nównøis just landed on my radar with her new single “incomplete” (the shinobu version). It’s the kind of song you put on at night and don’t touch your phone for a while. I listened to it with headphones and somehow ended up just sitting still. Letting the calm build around me. The beat is slow and nothing is crowded. everything feels… deliberate, like she trimmed it down to exactly what it needs.
Her voice is soft, pure and serious. She doesn’t try to show off, she just is in the song and that makes it sound confident. The melodies are captivating and loop in your head after a few listens. The lyrics are clever in ways I couldn’t immediately put into words. It’s simple, but that simplicity is what makes it hit.
I liked how it didn’t rush anywhere. Some songs are like they’re trying to impress, but this one drifts in a calm, dark space and you sort of float along with it. There’s this small tension in the sound. a little shadow hovering in the notes, but it never gets too much, just enough to pull you deeper.
Honestly, I love this track. It’s the kind of music you want to keep coming back to and I’ll be following her closely. I really love her music and her passion and I can’t stop thinking about what she’ll do next.
