Asta Bria – Will You Love Me Tomorrow

I played Asta Bria’s cover on this old classic late at night. Half-asleep and expecting background music. But it pulled me in quietly. More than 60 years after The Shirelles first recorded it, the song still feels fragile and Bria leans into that softness in a gentle way.

The music is simple. Gentle guitar, a slow sway and lots of open space. It’s not flashy and not crowded. Her voice sits right in the middle almost like she’s singing across the room rather than performing on a stage. She has a pure and charming voice and her delivery is full of emotion and passion. At one point I actually stopped what I was doing just to listen which rarely happens with covers I already know by heart.

It’s surprising how grown-up the song feels here. The original had that teenage question hanging in the air. Bria sounds like someone who’s asked it before and already knows love doesn’t come with guarantees. It gives the lyrics a slightly heavier weight without turning them sad.

This cover is less like nostalgia and more like sitting with a memory you’re not sure you want to shake off yet. I didn’t expect to prefer a new version of such a famous song, but I honestly do. I’ll be keeping an eye on whatever Asta Bria releases next.
