Good morning! I put this on while making coffee and ended up abandoning the kitchen halfway through because I couldn’t stop moving. French Dogs have that kind of pop-rock energy that sneaks up on you. one minute you’re nodding along, the next you’re basically having a dance party in socks.
The band sounds tight and confident, like they know exactly how loud to push and when to ease back just enough to keep things fun and not messy. The guitars carry a bright bite, the drums keep everything charging forward and the production is polished without sanding off the rough edges that make it exciting.
The vocals are just amazing! There’s a punchy and almost breathless delivery that fits the pace perfectly. It just rides the wave of the song and pulls you with it. Then the chorus hits and, yeah, that’s the part that stuck with me. I caught myself humming it later while scrolling my phone, which is usually how I know something worked.
I really like how joyful it feels. There’s attitude in it, a bit of mischief, like the band is grinning while they play. You can imagine this going off live with people jumping around and spilling drinks.
I also saw they’ve got a Record Store Day 12-inch coming, which honestly feels deserved. If this track is a preview of what they’re building toward, I’m in. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on them this year – this one made my day better.
