I’ve written about Valaura before, so I pressed play on their new single “Hallowed Ground” with a bit of excitement already sitting there. I was curious where they’d go next. About thirty seconds in, I had my answer.
The verses move in low and steady. The guitars sit back just enough to let the words breathe and Abi Tipton’s voice holds that tension without pushing too hard. She doesn’t overdo it. She just locks in and means what she sings. Then the chorus hits and everything opens up. It’s big, loud and confident without turning messy. I actually replayed that first chorus twice because the lift felt earned.
This band leans into that space between hard rock and alternative rock really well here. There’s grit in the guitars and the drums have weight, but the song is still controlled. They know when to pull back and when to let it go. That balance is what keeps it interesting. The verses are well written and the hook is just amazing.
The lyrics carry a clear message. You can tell they took their time writing them. Nothing is thrown in just to fill space. And behind Abi, the band sounds tight and focused. Everyone plays their part with purpose. Honestly, with this new release, the band is stepping forward with confidence. It’s bold, it’s energetic and it sticks in your head after it ends. I’m glad they came back with something this strong.
