I spent a good chunk of my day with “Class 2 Rapids” playing in the background,; and honestly it turned into one of those albums you don’t rush through. Robbie Rapids brings a rock-driven sound that is confident and lived-in. like someone who knows exactly what lane they want to drive in and just goes for it. In these 15 tracks, there’s a steady flow of energy mixed with melody and it never feels like he’s coasting or filling space just to hit a number.
The guitars carry a lot of weight here. Pushing songs forward without drowning them out. The melodies stick with you in a casual way. You may catch yourself humming parts later without realizing when they settled in. His voice moves easily between softer moments and louder ones and it always sounds like it belongs right where it is. The choruses are a real highlight. A few of them hit fast and stay lodged in your head after one listen.
The production here is professional. Everything is clean and well put together. Nothing fights for attention and the balance lets each song breathe on its own. This album is like a long drive kind of record you play front to back without skipping. I enjoyed the ride and I’d happily go back and dig into it again, track by track, just to spend more time with it.
