Hollow Shift’s new EP “Reload” sits comfortably in a darker electronic space and it feels like a release made by people who know exactly what they’re doing. This duo leans into shadowy synth work and steady rhythms. but nothing feels crowded or messy. The sound is clean, sharp and carefully put together. Every element has room to breathe and that balance makes the whole EP easy to sink into.
The style pulls from dark wave and post-punk moods. but it still feels current and fresh. The beats carry the tracks forward and the melodies stay with you after the music stops. Vocals are placed just right in the mix. working with the instrumentals perfectly. The lyrics are memorable and give the songs weight without spelling everything out.
I really like how confident this EP sounds. The production and mixing show real skill and the songwriting is great. There’s passion here and it comes through in small details. I loved spending time with this record. It’s the kind of EP I’d play late at night. letting the melodies loop in my head and I’m excited to hear where this duo goes next.
