Alastair Gordon – Promenade

Alastair Gordon’s new single “Promenade” is calm and carefully made. It feels like a song that was written because it had to be written, not because someone needed a single. It carries a quiet weight, but it never leans on drama. Alastair Gordon keeps things simple and lets the song speak in its own time.

His voice is the centre of everything here. It has depth and character and the way he delivers each line feels thoughtful and controlled. The melody moves gently and it stays in your head without trying to hook you in obvious ways. There’s a calm confidence in how the song unfolds and I love it.

The instrumentation is handled with care. and supports the song perfectly. The production is professional. and the mix gives everything enough room. You can clearly hear how well the instruments and vocals fit together which makes the song feel complete and easy to listen to.

I really love how honest and beautiful this song feels. It doesn’t explain itself too much or dress things up. I think it’s one of the best records I’ve heard this month. I loved the voice, the songwriting and the way the song stays with you after it ends. It’s the kind of song I’d happily play again late at night just to sit with it a little longer.
