Pisgah – Faultlines

Pisgah’s new LP “Faultlines” is one of the best records I’ve heard this year. It’s like sitting down with a record that knows exactly where it wants to go and leaves space for you to breathe inside it. The album begins with “Cumulonimbus” a song that hits with a warm kind of emotion and a steady energy that pulls you in right away. “Favor” moves in a gentler direction with a soft tone and easy instrumentation that I really enjoyed.

“Bone to Pick” keeps things simple and carried by a clean beat and vocals that feel honest in a quiet way. “5ft2” and “Splintering” bring a deeper weight with honest songwriting and melodies that sit in your chest long after they fade. “Bend to Break” is one of those tracks where everything clicks, the instrumental pieces are thoughtful and the vocal work is well-shaped.

“Out of the Gate” pushes the emotion forward again with a performance that feels open and soothing. Then the album closes with “Song for Jason Molina (Cold Rain)” a song that keeps things small but full, letting her voice, guitar and writing do all the work.

By the time it ended, I honestly felt like I’d gone through something special. Pisgah has a way of making music feel like its own world and this LP is a beautiful way to end the year. I’m really excited to see where she goes next in 2026.
