Shell Pink’s new EP “Rogue Waves” caught me off guard in the best way. I put it on expecting to skim through a few songs, but “Weird Fish” stopped me right away. There’s something about the way he layers his voice and production that feels effortless but still full of feeling. I ended up replaying it more times than I want to admit, just to sink into that mix of melody and emotion again.
“The Beach” brings a completely different spark. It moves with this easy energy that makes the whole thing feel alive. It’s almost like Shell Pink is a full band even though it’s just him behind it all. Then “Keep It Simple” shifts the mood once more, still emotional, but in a tuneful and more comforting way. I really liked how the melodies sit with the lyrics here, it’s the kind of track that sticks quietly in your head.
“Bluepoint” closes the EP with an instrumental moment that feels like a deep breath. It’s simple in the best way, just letting the atmosphere settle in without trying too hard. Honestly, I didn’t expect to like this EP this much. Shell Pink has a sound that keeps pulling me back and after hearing it, he’s definitely going on my favorites list.
