Kate Pending’s new EP “Two Words” is like stepping into a small and carefully lit world where every track has its own voice but still belongs to the same story. It opens with “Hibiskus” a short piece with spoken German vocals that calmly sets the mood. It’s a perfect start and it just eases you in and gives you a sense of where she’s headed.
“Nothing Changes” brings in soft vocals and a steady and calming beat. I liked how the sounds layer together perfectly. Then comes “Walk Away” which immediately grabbed me. The elements are perfect, the instrumental is well designed, the production is polished and the beat work is honestly the kind that makes you want to replay it right away.
“Begging Blank” follows with a warm flow, catchy vocal lines and tones that glide nicely through the track. It keeps things moving while staying gentle and emotional. The closer “Monkey Dust” wraps everything up in a simple and peaceful way. The sound is light and it leaves a soft aftertaste that fits perfectly at the end of the EP.
I really loved the variety she brings while still keeping her own style. Kate Pending is talented and her production skills shine in a way that feels effortless. I honestly enjoyed spending time with this EP.
