From the first note, this album captivated me and didn’t let go. i love my friends just landed with their new album “Bedroom Tapes” and it’s one of those records that feels like it was made with real care. The opening track, “Please Don’t” has this lively and catchy groove that immediately lifts the mood. It’s the kind of song that sticks with you after your first listen. “Dreamin’” shifts things into something gentler with an easy rhythm that makes it perfect for late-night listening. I found myself replaying it just to stay in that soft little world it creates.
“In Your Eyes” brings a warm and calm feeling with its smooth melody while “Quick Fix” sparks everything back up with louder guitars and a strong performance that shows how tight this band really is. Tracks like “Leaving Home” and “Francis” show a softer and thoughtful side and both songs have melodies that feel honest and well-shaped. “Saw The Signs” is another highlight here, it’s full of feeling and great energy and you can really feel the band’s heart in it. “Sesame Tree” closes the album with a dreamy and creative touch that feels like a quiet goodbye.
Listening to the album for the first time, I honestly didn’t expect to enjoy it this much. I love the variety, the songwriting and the atmosphere they’ve built here. This album won me over completely. It found a place on my playlist and I don’t see it leaving anytime soon.
