My Lovely Haunting – Forgotten Moon

I’ve just discovered this duo and I can already tell they’re one to watch. My Lovely Haunting’s debut album “Forgotten Moon” is like stepping into a quiet world the duo built with care. The album begins with an intro that immediately sets the tone. It’s moody and full of small details. The second track “Drifting” brings a soft mix of vocals and gentle acoustic playing that’s easy to relax into.

“Star Gazing” pulls things upward with its dreamy energy and the kind of melody that is soothing and memorable. Then “Lost Again” changes the mood, led by Alex’s voice and a darker atmosphere that is honest and heavy in a good way. The middle of the album shifts nicely with “Medieval Lullaby” an instrumental piece that gives you a moment to breathe.

“The Window” brings Lucy’s voice forward again. It’s calm and warm with simple instrumentation that lets her delivery shine. “One More Day” shows how well the duo blends songwriting with their unique soundscape and “Carnival” finishes everything with a peaceful and almost floating feeling.

Listening to this album, I really felt the duo’s passion and the world they’re trying to create. Their style is personal and different from anything else I’ve heard this year, and by the end, I found myself wanting to go back through the whole journey again.
