Amy Jay – Mnemonics

Amy Jay’s new album “Mnemonics” is like opening a window to a quiet room you didn’t realize you needed. She starts the record with “How The Mind Can Be A Trap” a song that hits gently but with a real sense of meaning and honesty. Her voice comes through with so much feeling, and you can hear how deeply she connects with what she writes. It’s a simple song on the surface, but the emotion in it stays with you.

“Can’t Go Back” brings in warm and soft melodies that pull you in right away. “Excuse Me” lifts the energy a bit, giving the album a nice shift without losing the heart that ties everything together. One song that really caught my attention is “Move On”, I really loved its powerful and emotional ending and the production feels creative and gives the track its own little world. I liked the way that atmosphere builds around her voice.

The whole album feels personal and full of soul. The production is thoughtful, the instrumentation is rich and supportive, and her singing is honestly one of the highlights of the year. She writes with honesty and performs with real care. This album moved me in a quiet but powerful way. I truly loved listening to it, and I hope you give it the time it deserves.
