Georgia Weber and the Sleeved Hearts – Big in Japan

Georgia Weber and the Sleeved Hearts have just landed on my radar with their new EP “Big in Japan” which is one of those releases that instantly pulls you in with its warmth and grace. Georgia’s voice feels gentle and confident, and it floats perfectly above the band’s soft and jazz-rooted instrumentals. The upright bass gives everything a natural pulse while the guitar work feels beautifully soothing, adding just the right amount of texture. You can tell this project comes from a place of real connection, between the musicians, the stories behind the songs and the emotions they carry.

Each track feels carefully shaped, but never stiff. There’s a calm flow that lets you just sit back and breathe with it. The production is clean and gives the whole EP a glowing and organic sound. You can sense the influence of Japanese folk tales, but it’s woven in subtly, more like a mood than a concept.

I just discovered this release and I’m so glad I did. The atmosphere is warm, the melodies are rich, and it’s simply a joy to listen to. Georgia Weber and her band created something that feels peaceful and alive, a rare kind of beauty that stays with you.
