Some records feel like an experience rather than just music, and this is definitely one of them. Matt C. White just landed on my radar with his new album “A Cosmic Year” one of those records that instantly feels bigger than just a collection of songs, it’s a full journey. His voice cuts through with this raw power that carries every track, no matter how heavy or spacey the music around it gets. The guitars are wild in the best way, fuzzed out, swirling, sometimes sharp, sometimes smooth, but always surprising. You can tell he poured himself into every layer and the production makes it all hit just right without losing its edge.
What I really love is how the album doesn’t sit in one mood too long, it shifts, experiments and keeps you hooked. Some solos feel almost hypnotic, while others just rip open the mix and demand attention. Honestly, this album blew me away. It’s ambitious and flat-out exciting. Definitely something I’ll be coming back to again and again!
