Dax has always been an artist who surprises me with how far he’s willing to stretch his sound and his new single “Man I Used To Be” shows that once again. Instead of leaning into heavy rap bars, he strips things back and delivers something raw and almost country-inspired with soft instrumentation that lets his voice really shine. I really love how personal it feels, his lyrics carry weight and you can tell they come from a place of honesty and reflection. The chorus lingers in your head, not because it’s flashy, but because it’s heartfelt and easy to connect with.
I’ve always loved how Dax doesn’t box himself into one lane. Whether he’s rapping with intensity or singing with vulnerability, he brings the same confidence and sincerity. This song feels especially touching. For me, it’s one of his most memorable songs yet and I love seeing this side of him.
