From the first note to the last, this record had me hooked. Zov.yay’s new EP “Chaperon Accents” grabbed me right away with its balance of confidence and honesty. He shows off not just strong songwriting but also a real sense of presence in his delivery. His voice has this steady emotion behind it, sometimes smooth, sometimes raw and it pairs beautifully with the instrumentals which feel carefully chosen to let his words really land. What stood out most to me is how much intention sits in every detail. The production feels clean without being overdone and the mixing allows his vocals to shine front and center.
Listening through, I found myself really pulled into his flows and the way he plays with rhythm, shifting between lyrical depth and catchy melodies. There’s something very personal in his style, but it never loses its accessibility. I think this EP proves how much range he has and it left me excited to hear what comes next.
