Wotts returns with an amazing final single, “i’ll see you when the game resets” taken from their new EP “FLANK!” and it’s one of those songs that stays with you after the last note. The guitars have a gritty charm that instantly pulls you in, backed by drums that drive everything with a cool and raw energy. The melody is catchy in that effortless way only Wotts can pull off and the lyrics feel reflective but not heavy, more like a hopeful wave goodbye than a heartbreak.
What stands out most is how balanced the song feels. It’s not overly polished and that’s exactly what makes it so memorable, it’s honest, emotional and full of character. The atmosphere is one-of-a-kind, with a sound that leans into a 90s alt-rock spirit while keeping Wotts’ signature confidence intact. I think this is one of their most powerful tracks yet. It’s real and I absolutely loved it.
