Bank Street Martyrs just landed on my radar with “Four Towns and a Republic” a deeply heartfelt rock album grounded in the life and spirit of urban Scotland. Across 11 tracks, the band paints vivid scenes of community, memory and working-class pride. From the humorous nostalgia of “Ballad of a Vale Man” to the romantic warmth in “Home to the Power of Two” each song feels like a page from a well-loved storybook.

The instrumentation is rich and detailed with polished arrangements that blend rock blues and hints of jazz, especially in “Three Stripes to the Wind”. The vocals here are amazing and the harmonies are catchy and will get stuck in your head. This album is full of soul and reflection. For me, it’s one of the best records I’ve heard this month. It’s honest, passionate and full of character. I really love their energy and the meaningful way they bring their stories to life.
