As I hit replay for the tenth time, it’s safe to say this album has found a home in my heart. Connor Kelly & The Time Warp’s new album, “This Egg” is a masterclass in introspection and sonic craftsmanship. Across 12 meticulously crafted tracks, the band delivers a compelling blend of indie, alternative, and psychedelic rock, pushing their artistry to new heights. Produced and mixed by the legendary Paul Q. Kolderie, the album boasts an immersive sound, rich in texture and emotion and I really love it.
What I really like about this album is the great attention to detail. Every instrument feels purposeful, weaving seamlessly into the lush production. The band’s chemistry is undeniable with each member bringing something unique to the table. The vocals are the heart of the record, carrying a raw and haunting quality that pulls listeners into the emotional core of each song. The album explores themes of self-awareness, privilege and disillusionment, adding depth to the already captivating melodies.
I had this album on repeat several times and loved every second. The care and precision in every element are remarkable. The melodies are haunting, the lyrics meaningful and the entire album is polished to perfection. Connor Kelly & The Time Warp have created something truly special and I’ll be following their journey eagerly.
