I came across one of the best records of this month and the minute I heard it, I knew I had to share it. I just discovered this band The Dialtones and their new single “Naming No Names” a powerful and deeply personal track that showcases the band’s unique style and great musicianship. This Austin-based band led by the talented Lauren Gurgiolo shows creativity and delivers a polished production with excellent mixing and an atmosphere that is both haunting and unforgettable. Don’t be surprised if the vocals get stuck in your mind long after the song ends. The well crafted instrumentation supports the song’s mood in the most perfect way which is something I really value.
This record is the first single from their upcoming EP which I’m super excited to listen to. The song shares Lauren’s personal experiences with bipolar 1 disorder. It reveals her private experiences with mania through its shifting from exhilarating energy to the darker consequences of unchecked enthusiasm. The music’s sounds and lyrics perfectly match the feeling of being in this condition and make for an exciting experience. The Dialtones have crafted something special here and I can’t wait to hear what’s next.
