Phidippus – Prazosin

Eric Salazar aka Phidippus‘ latest album “Prazosin” is a beautiful work of art and had it on constant repeat last night. Eric is from Arvada, Colorado and his love for pushing the envelope of electronic music is clear in this deeply personal and captivating project. The album was recorded in a two bedroom apartment and showcases his strength and ability to create something remarkable out of a computer, keyboard controller and vision.

The album’s emotive vocals from Jeff Riteman, Alice Indiana and Eric himself, all blend nicely with the dark and unique atmosphere of the album. Drawing inspiration from talents like Tangerine Dream and Kraftwerk with polished production and fresh beats and melodies that will stick in your head after your first listen. Each track feels intentional and Eric has put a lot of attention to detail and professional craftsmanship into every track.

I really got lost while listening to this album, it’s a great experience from start to finish. The great melodies and haunting atmosphere transported me into a world that is introspective and invigorating. This is an album that you will want to listen to again and again and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for music that pushes boundaries but also remains deeply emotive. I promise you, this is a journey you’ll want to take.
