Delta of Venus – Disengaged b/w Slipping

Good morning everyone! I stumbled upon this new release last week and immediately knew I had to write about it. Delta of Venus marks their reemergence in the music scene with “Disengaged b/w Slipping” their first recorded material since reforming. The band, known for their experimental roots dating back to 1993, once again proves their innovative approach to music making, combining shoegaze and indie pop in a way that feels both new and old.

The first track, “Disengaged” starts with rich instrumentation and captivating dreamy vocals that create an inviting and introspective atmosphere. It’s a song that sticks with you long after it’s over and the clean production and memorable melodies are what make it so. “Slipping” is soothing and the vocals are captivating. The varied instrumentation is perfectly complemented by solid production and great mixing. Both songs reflect a departure from traditional structures with their musical movements flowing rather than sticking to conventional verses and choruses.

This release is an absolute gem for me as a fan of dream pop and honest lyrics. There’s something about this release that feels timeless yet fresh at the same time. The band’s creative production and intricate soundscapes show their unique talent and vision. I can’t wait to see what Delta of Venus does next, they’ve definitely rekindled their spark and the future looks incredibly promising.
