From the heartfelt “Bluebird” a moving tribute to her late mother to the vibrant and electronic “Immortal Dryad” the tracks are varied and there is a little bit for everyone here. Sparkle Glitch’s layered instrumentals and experimental vocal techniques, often using sounds from nature, make this EP a great listen. Her knack for pairing intricate production with meaningful lyrics is evident throughout.
The whole EP is a unique experience from start to finish and If you were to ask me about my favorite track, I’d say “Boy I Never Knew” with its captivating melodies and creative production that left me utterly impressed. The EP is full of each song being something different, from emotional ballads to upbeat anthems, so there’s definitely something for everyone.
Her voice is pure and unforgettable and her performances on this EP are irresistible in their charm and I found myself hitting repeat over and over. This is one of the best voices I’ve heard this year and I can’t wait to see what she does next. “Battle Maiden” is an artistic triumph that’s sure to resonate far and wide.
