The New Citizen Kane left me stuck on repeat with this special and great experience EP “Could Have Been”. It’s a seven track EP of polished and heartfelt electronic music. This collection blends infectious pop melodies with dynamic electronic beats, creating an amazing and memorable listening experience.
The vocals on the EP are captivating and emotive, and the instrumentals are energetic and polished. The title track “Could Have Been” shines with honest lyrics and lush melodies that speak to the bittersweetness of what-ifs in love. “Forget The World” is a standout and offers an uplifting escape with vibrant beats and joyful hooks.
The record is a great experience from start to finish and what really make a favorite for me is the cover of Coldplay’s “Talk” which is one of the best covers I’ve ever heard, with the artist’s fresh energy into the classic and polished production that feels nostalgic and new. The remixes included in the EP provide a fresh take on the tracks, offering a new perspective on the tracks and showing the artist’s versatility.
This EP is every track worth listening to, but for me “Forget The World” and “Talk” are the most memorable and moving. If you’re a fan of electronic, deep house or chillwave, this EP will be like home, catchy, vibrant and endlessly replayable. This new release is one of the best records I’ve heard this year and The New Citizen Kane is a true talent.
