I’m so happy that Trickshooter Social Club landed on my radar this week with their new single “Better Than Love” a heartfelt exploration of connection and acceptance, inspired by musical legends John Prine and Leonard Cohen. Whether it’s friends, family or lovers, this song creates a visual of two people in the tops of their intimacy and understanding. The lyrics are honest and touching and the band does a beautiful job of capturing these moments in a soothing, Americana-inspired soft rock sound.
The production and mixing are great and allow the gentle instrumentation and captivating vocals shine through. The melodies are memorable and the music is varied enough to keep you interested and stuck on constant repeat. It’s a classic and a fresh song with an emotional depth that really hits.
This song is a great addition to my playlist as a big fan of these genres. Trickshooter Social Club’s talent is amazing and their music is warm and deserves more attention. I can’t wait to hear what they release next, this is a band that really knows how to make meaningful and timeless music.
