The Canadian hard rock band Hail to the North has recently released a song that I find quite interesting called “Not by Myself”. Stepping out of the Holiday songs we’re receiving recently, this song is a powerful hit of hard rock music with a great and meaningful message.
The production of this track is smart and polished and shows Matt Noztez’s excellent work as the producer. The drum kit on this record was played by Kalen Huxham, whose performance brings the heavy and dynamic arrangements to life. The vocals are rich and easy to follow and the instruments of the song include powerful guitars, great bass and amazing drum work. The melodies are captivating and the lyrics are original and thought-provoking, as the song is about themes of resistance against government lockdowns and restrictions in Canada.
Hail to the North has created a unique sound that makes them stand out in the rock genre. Their creativity and purpose-driven artistry make this single a track that hooks you from the first listen. For myself, I think this song is one of the best releases I’ve covered this year. It’s real, it’s emotional and it’s not afraid to be honest, something that makes me excited to see what this great band has in store for us next.
