Erik Hansen’s new EP “Seasons of the Wind” and represents a departure from his previous work with the Band Fallen Angels. Relying upon influences that range from Nirvana and The Offspring to classic rock artists like AC/DC and Metallica, Hansen’s makes some really good songs for this collection that captures the spirit of Rock in its every form.
“Seasons of the Wind”, which is a five-track EP acts as an introduction to Hansen’s solo projects, thus showcasing his skills both as a musician and songwriter. The quality of production can be heard throughout, with all instruments layered superbly to make a rich sounding landscape. With his vocals displaying power and emotion; this EP goes further than imagined.
Apart from being rooted in Rock music, Seasons of the Wind has elements borrowed from folk music and poetry that made it deep or different. It was co-produced by Pamela Moore alongside Hansen who also played drums on Chris Gohde, pedal steel guitar on John Hansen among other musicians hence they have collectively worked on its production according to Hansen’s vision.
As Hansen continues to chart his course as a solo artist, this EP stands as a compelling chapter in his musical journey, leaving listeners eagerly anticipating what the future holds. From Nirvana-like thrashy guitar riffs to Deep Purple-ish classic rock vibes in “Seasons Of The Winds,” one thing is clear: Hanson loves rock.
