LINDA SUSSMAN is a NY-based, award-winning singer-songwriter whose music blurs the lines of alt-folk & blues and whose songs span universal themes from love and heartache to cries for social justice. Sussman’s vocals are backed by her strong rhythm and fingerpicking guitar, with a touch of slide; her music has received international airplay.
In July 2022, Sussman released “Shake It Loose Today,” her fourth album in five years, following “These Walls” in 2021. Each album charted #1 on the Roots Music Report’s weekly Alt-Folk Album Chart, and “These Walls” ranks #5 on the RMR’s Best in 2021 Alt-Folk Album Chart. Meantime, while gearing up for another LP, between late-2022 and mid-2023, Sussman dropped three singles: “Don’t Let It Rain” (folk-blues with a touch of jazz), “A Power You’ll Never Know” (folk-blues) and “Let Common Sense Prevail” (alt-folk).
Over the years, Sussman has shared her music at a wide range of venues but typically tours solo. The stages she has played range from NYC’s iconic The Bitter End to smaller settings such as Radio Bean in VT. Her loyal studio musicians include Mike Nugent (lead guitar) and Kevin Kelly (bass), among others.
