Joe Kenney is a recording artist, songwriter, and pianist from Philadelphia. His eclectic writing blends classical music theory, jazz fusion, rock, soul, and hip-hop idioms. Joe has been praised for both his original works and cover arrangements.
His debut original album, Afflictions and Remedies (2015), received airplay nationally and was praised as a “painting of a piano at work” by Meredith Michele (WJSU-Jackson, MS).
In 2016, Kenney followed up with an an album of jazz and classical inspired arrangements of alternative rock and top 40 hits. The sophomore album, “1.5” was recognized on Radio 104.5 (PHI) and featured on iHeartRadio. DJ Wendy Rollins characterized Joe’s Twenty One Pilots cover as “perfection.”
Following the success of the two solo piano albums, Joe expanded into different formats, In March 2018, Kenney released 2.5, his third full studio album in as many years. Showcasing multiple styles and instrumentations, 2.5 features re-imaginings of eight alternative rock hits. Two of the tracks from the album landed on an iHeartRadio editorial playlist amongst artists such as The Piano Guys and 2Cellos.
In October of 2020, Kenney unveiled his fourth album, which features collaborations with six decorated vocalists from the Philadelphia area, on a ten-track original album. “Forth” won a bronze medal in the Global Music Awards, and has been aired on over 80 radio stations in North America.
