The Violet Nines – Dancing with Fire

This amazing song “Dancing with Fire” by the talented band The Violet Nines is one of the best pop songs we’ve heard in months. Dancing with Fire is a house-inspired funk and pop track that’s about a dicey romance one knows might backfire — but they pursue anyway. The song comes with an outstanding music video that will definitely give you a better experience while listening. The vocalist has one of the richest and most powerful pop voices we’ve heard in months and her performance on this record is on another level. The chorus is amazing and will get stuck in your head for days to come. The vocal melodies are amazing and the lyrics are original and well-written. The atmosphere of this song is unique and the production is smart, polished and brought this record to a whole new level. This song is a great experience from start to finish and the saxophone solo adds the most perfect touch we could ever ask for. We really love what this band brought to the table today and we’re super excited to see where The Violet Nines’ career will go over the coming months. Give this record a spin, we hope you love it as much as we do!

ABOUT THE BAND:

The Violet Nines are a vibrant outfit from Minneapolis, MN that play groove pop; alternative fused with funk, rock and R&B. After a music video of the band performing Let Me Hold On on a boat – while playing guitar and surfing simultaneously – caught circulation, The V9s were heard across the U.S. on independent and college radio.

Dave Franklin of Dancing About Architecture describes the group as, “Smooth and sensual but also confident and commercial, the pitch perfect between chart territory and a more interesting, more underground roots world.”

Since emerging from 2020, the band has forged a new sound around the show-stopper addition of Hayley Lewis (a.k.a Corzine). Singing lead vocals alongside Nick Eagon on guitar, Austin Kurtz on drums, Benjamin Cline on keys & saxophone and Delon Smith on bass, The Violet Nines have made a name for themselves for their multi-fronted approach (something like Lawrence but more Jungle or Foster The People sonically). The Violet Nines connect with listeners through electric performances (vis a vis their album Live at First Avenue). 2021 has found the band busy. They unleashed Baby and Dead Wrong, toured with Caleb Hawley and now they’re onto their biggest release to date – Dancing with Fire. That’s not all, The Violet Nines are building to something big; to be unveiled this fall.
