Sahara Beck – Stillness

We are super excited to share this amazing song “Stillness” by Australian singer-songwriter Sahara Beck. This song is a great experience from start to finish and will leave you stuck on repeat for a long time. She has one of the purest and most beautiful voices we’ve ever heard and her vocal performance on this record is more than professional. The chorus of this song is very catchy and the guitars are so enjoyable. The atmosphere is unique and there is a great level of songwriting that shines up through this record. Sahara’s stunning voice and the production of the song are perfectly complementary, which makes the melody sparkle. Sahara Beck is a talented artist and her music is original and sets her apart from the crowd. We hope you love this song as much as we do!

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

SAHARA BECK SURRENDERS TO VULNERABILITY WITH STILLNESS

In strong contrast to her upbeat and decadent single Kryptonite, and off the back of her sass-filled season of Bite Club with Briefs Factory International, Sahara Beck slows and surrenders to pure vulnerability in Stillness.

Finding solace in co-writing with her friend Alex Henriksson (Matt Corby, Budjerah, Jarryd James), and produced by familiar force-of-nature Tony Buchen (Mansionair, Courtney Barnett), Sahara penned Stillness to describe the impactful reality of how her panic attacks begin, evolve and take over, comparing the feelings to being trapped in a heavy traffic jam.

Sahara’s feverish delivery of lyrics and melody in the verses (traffic on the street, traffic in my mind, traffic in my soul, this street’s gonna swallow me up whole, this street’s gonna swallow me up whole), transitions into the soft and dreamy freefall of surrendering to her feelings in the chorus – the comparison mimicking the push/pull, hot/cold, round and round journey of working on your mental health.

“I really wanted those heavy guitars in the chorus to accompany the soft, calm singing, the guitars are the (traffic) noise that were once overwhelming, but in juxtaposition to the kind of meditative vocal I was going for, they become like a soft cushion surrounding me.”

Although the track is soaked in feelings of overwhelm and fragility, Sahara’s ability to spin sadness into bliss, and weakness into wonder, overarches the entirety of the track and really is no surprise – quite simply, it’s her gift.

‘Stillness’ follows the release of her most recent singles ‘Kryptonite’ and ‘Crave Me’ which received radio support across the globe including influential stations such as Flux FM Germany; Indie XFM Los Angeles; Radio Doble Nueve Peru; 2XM Ireland; Radio Alternative Rock Brazil, Radio One India and ZFM Netherlands.

Sahara was featured on ASIA POP 40 as the #AlternativeChoice. Asia Pop 40 have interviewed the likes of John Legend and Justin Bieber and their audience is in the millions broadcasting to 100+ radio stations across SE Asia, Asia, Middle East, Australasia and North America

Sahara also co-wrote and features on Purple Disco Machines ‘Can’t Get Enough’ the first track off the highly acclaimed sophomore LP “Exotica” which includes the massive Sophie & The Giants hit ‘Hypnotized’ alongside other hit singles ‘Fireworks (feat.Moss Kena & The Knocks)’ and ‘Dopamine (feat. Eyelar)’.
