We are super excited to share this amazing song “White Skates” by Nashville-based retro soul/pop artist Fulton Lee. The song comes with an outstanding music video that will definitely give you a better experience while listening. The tune of this song is very catchy and the atmosphere is so beautiful. The production is creative, smart and brought this record to a whole new level. Lee has one of the best pop voices we’ve ever heard, and his performance on this record is more than professional. This song is a great experience from start to finish and left us so excited to see where Fulton Lee’s career will go over the coming months!
WHAT THE ARTIST SAYS ABOUT THIS SONG:
“‘White Skates’ is the most complete track we’ve ever made. It went through over two years of on-and-off revisions, adding and subtracting layers of instrumentation perfecting melodies, etc. But even from the beginning, me and my crew could always hear magic in this song. I can think of more than a few good songs we’ve made that haven’t seen the light of day because we couldn’t quite sense that magic in them. This one has a strong dose of whatever that X factor is. I hope when people hear it, they can sense that colorful energy that inspired us through the whole process. I hope people can hear the hours we spent flow-state-head-bopping while mixing, editing, and adding synth layers. The aggressive car dance parties we had listening to mixes of this song! I hope they hear that energy.”
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Fulton Lee combines stanky groove with colorful pop melodies to create a sound dubbed “Bubblegum Funk”. His influences span from Vulfpeck to Frank Ocean.
Fulton began his career emulating the sounds and styles of old school soul singers like James Brown and Little Richard. Heavily inspired by the doo-wop sound and dance style of the 50’s, much of his music and live performances were a blast from the past. Since then, Fulton has integrated his retro sound with modern production styles.
