ABOUT THE ARTIST:
My name is Ace, I am 22, and I was born and raised in Santa Cruz, California. I started playing guitar at age 5 and have been singing and performing for as long as I can remember. I attended a performing arts high school but I am currently studying mathematics at UC Berkeley. I am an avid rock climber and spend most of my time studying for school, but my heart lies in songwriting.
Throughout high school, all of my songs were instrumental fingerstyle guitar pieces. It wasn’t until my senior year, when I got into writing poetry, that I began writing songs with lyrics. Over the last 6 years I have grown increasingly interested in the art of songwriting and have amassed a large pool of songs, drawing on inspiration from artists such as Dr. Dog, Phoebe Bridgers, Andy Shauf, and particularly Elliott Smith.
At the beginning of 2021 I started recording my first studio album, Neckdeep, with a local producer. The tentative release date is Valentines day of 2022 but until then I will be releasing a string of singles.
