Deeply personal, genre-blending, and unique in his own right, Clancy’s unique take on Alternative Pop has set his sound and sights ahead of others. Heavily influenced by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Frank Ocean, Mac Miller, and BROCKHAMPTON, his music captures emotion perfectly without ever sounding contrived, effortlessly juxtaposing dark lyricism with lush soundscapes, colorful chord-work and elegant melodies.
It’s through his own trials and tribulations and experiences with substance abuse and mental health issues that have given Justin the gift of always being able to extract the good in the worst of times. The release of his 2018 debut album ‘The Color Blue’ signaled the remarkable turnaround in Justin Clancy’s life, who was on the verge of suicide while in the grips of his addiction only a few years prior. With the album now having been streamed millions of times, Clancy has also been nominated for 5 Boston music awards, featured on the 2018 Warped Tour, founded the non-profit organization ‘New England Addiction Outreach’, which has encouraged over 500 people to step into detox and rehabilitation. Most recently, Justin signed a record deal with Hitskope Records (Sony / The Orchard) and is scheduled to release his heavily anticipated EP “The Ugly Parts” this fall.
