17-years-old singer-songwriter Lydia Briggs left us stuck on repeat with her beautiful melodic anthem “Daylight”. The minute we heard Lydia’s voice we fall in love with we couldn’t get it out of our heads! She has one of the best and most charming voices we’ve ever heard and her vocal performance in this song is more than professional and which shows how skilled she is. Her melodies are very catchy and she has so much talent when it comes to singing and songwriting. The song is about her personal experiences with a lack of empathy in dangerous situations. The atmosphere of this song is unique and the production is beautiful, simple and brought this song to a whole level. This song is a great experience from start to finish! We hope you love it as much as we do!
WHAT THE ARTIST SAYS ABOUT THIS SONG:
“The song is essentially about bystander apathy. I didn’t know the meaning of the expression when I started writing the song. However, by the time I finished production, I happened upon an article and realized the importance to this piece. Why is it that bystanders sometimes fail to help when they see someone in danger? I understand what it’s like to be afraid, but sometimes peer pressure can overrule action when witnessing right versus wrong, safety versus danger. We see it in so many scary situations today – online bullying, sexual assault, and racism. When violence is happening in broad daylight, where are the helpers? This song is my way to speak out for people who suffer alone during and after these types of experiences.”

Lydia’s sound resembles a bit of Birdy, and industry insiders have compared her to the likes of Sara Bareilles and Fiona Apple. “That’s a huge compliment and coincidence,” says Lydia, who has been working for the last two years with producer Jim Wirt, a member of the production team on Fiona Apple’s “Criminal.”
“Lydia is a great songstress whose unique voice perfectly complements its pop-sense. At just 15 years old, she has a long career ahead of her.” (2018)
