ABOUT THE BAND:
A combination of roots music fused by traditional folk stylings. Jonny and Clyde expressively merges influences of blues, folk, country, rhythm & blues, and rock & roll. Songs are primary rhythm driven and vocally charged with focused harmonies and catchy lyrics.
Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee, JAC is a recording project of Chad Huey, who plays drums and sings in another musical project out of Memphis called “Grape.” Starting in 2020, he began putting a number of his songs into production starting with this most recent release Family Recipes featuring three tunes out of the collection. This project features him as the lead man on vocals and guitar. Most of the initial studio work also features Huey on the drum kit but his father, Glen plays a major role as producer and multi-instrumentalist including drums, guitar, and vocals as well. The second song on the EP called Black Zion Child highlights the father/son drummer duo with a compelling double-drum arrangement in the outro.
The debut release was recorded in Memphis, Tn at Young Avenue Sound with engineer, Calvin Lauber at the helm. There’s an intention with this project for collaboration with other artists in order to expand creative boundaries and in-studio connections. Other passengers on the Family Recipes train include previously mentioned executive producer and musician, Glen Huey (vox, guitar, piano, drums), as well as Ethan Vaughn (bass), and Brad Dickerson (keys, dobro).
