Will Newman – If I’m Being Honest

We can’t get enough of this masterpiece “If I’m Being Honest” by British singer-songwriter Will Newman. The minute we heard Will’s voice we fell in love with it and we couldn’t get it out of our heads! He has one of the most charming voices we’ve heard in months and we got stuck on repeat for a long time! His lyrics are deep and honest and his melodies are so catchy. We enjoy listening to his heartfelt vocals until the last second every time we play the song! The production of this song is professional and the atmosphere is very unique. We hope you like this masterpiece as much we do!

WHAT THE ARTIST SAYS ABOUT THIS SONG:

If I’m Being Honest refers to the classically British response to the question “How are you?” Most respond with the standardised answer, “I’m fine!”, politely conforming to social norm and Newman wholeheartedly believes that the world could do with an injection of honesty. “This single is two-fold. On one hand, it’s all about the journey you are on; acknowledging where you have been, where you are, and where you are going, but at the same time knowing you still have a way to go,” commented Will. “I know so many people will resonate with the feeling of some days waking up and celebrating how far you’ve come, and then other days feeling overwhelmed by the journey ahead.”

Newman continued, “On the other hand If I’m Being Honest is about checking in on people. Sometimes when your friends and family say they’re okay, they’re not. The ones who always act as a confidante and a shoulder to lean on? Well, sometimes they need support too. Like me. Three years ago, I wasn’t in a great place and the lyric ‘Show me the light cause I gotta know, even though I’ve still got a ways to go’ pays tribute to that. When I was in that dark moment, there were glimmers of light and colour – like my music – that spoke to my inner self and gave me moments of peace and normality.”

“We need to cut the crap and normalise being able to speak up and be honest about how we are feeling, without fear of judgement,” Will concluded.
