This incredible song “Driftin” by Canadian artist Sam Louis is one of the best songs we’ve heard in months! The melodies of this song are so catchy and the chorus is very energetic. Sam Louis is a talented singer and he has one of the richest voices you could ever hear! The production is polished and the lyrics are original and so emotional “Driftin’,” is about feeling lost and alone surrounded by so much beauty and wonder that you can’t reach/access. Being stuck in a bigger metropolis like Toronto during the COVID-19 pandemic brought upon the darker emotions of “Driftin’.” Having the city lights in view while feeling like you’re helplessly floating farther away from it, created this weird disconnect, one that Louis compared to drifting through space-time. We enjoyed listening to this masterpiece until the last second and we hope you love it as much as we do!

Emotional curation at its finest, Sam Louis always knows how to level up a soundtrack. This Thunder Bay/Toronto based singer/songwriter continuously merges hypnotic rhythms with melodic reverie. The Humber graduate of the Contemporary Music Degree program devilishly shines on stage while demonstrating his vocal spunk. Sam has studied with international musicians such as Greg Wells (Adele), Rik Emmett (Triumph), Ian Terry (Celine Dion) and Denzel Sinclaire (Diana Krall). Sam has also had the opportunity to work and song write with London based producer/songwriter/programmer James Sanger (Madonna, U2, Phil Collins) and has rehearsed and worked with Toronto based Musician/Producer/Songwriter Alan Shiner (Pizza Pizza, Coca Cola, Mariah Carey and Drake). In 2017 Sam was recognized by the Toronto Independent Music Awards being nominated in the BEST POP ARTIST category. He has also won an Indigenous Music Award for Best Pop Album through three collaborations with his friend Joshua De Perry (Classic Roots). In 2018 Sam recorded and released the 7 song EP “Hallelujah Nights” under engineer Kevin O’Leary (Tragically Hip Shawn Mendes Billy Talent The Glorious Sons Walk Off The Earth). Last year Louis‘ latest single This Love produced by LA’s Shayan Amiri (A-Major, Andy Boy) has been streamed over 150k times. It was also selected as a top 100 semi-finalist in the INTERNATIONAL SONGWRITING COMPETITION, featuring more than 20,000 applicants worldwide. Sam’s current collaboration, Shiny, with NY engineer Mike Tucci (Chris Brown, Young Thug) will be the artist’s next single, releasing this summer.
