Johnny Ashby is a brilliant artist! He stole our hearts with his new single “Born Again,” the title track off the EP. To be honest, we are totally hooked on his voice. The minute we heard this song we couldn’t get it off our heads. Johnny Ashby has one of the best voices of Americana music. His vocal performance is so catchy and professional which shows how talented he is. The lyrics are original and meaningful and the atmosphere of this song is unique. The soundscapes are incredible and the harmonies are catchy. This song was definitely a great and unique experience for our team!
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Johnny is a British songwriter, producer and musician based in Los Angeles, California. Johnny found a love for music through his Dad’s old mixtapes. Leaving school at 16, he studied music playing in bands and learning how to write songs through trial and error. Aged 25 he set up a small recording studio in the store room at his local guitar shop and it was here where he recorded his first album Cannonball Days. He then moved to California with a suitcase full of clothes and a guitar he built himself. Cannonball Days peaked at #9 in the iTunes songwriters chart which led to Huffington Post naming him as a “Top 5 Emerging Icon”. Since then Johnny has released 4 well acclaimed EPs and his music has been played on the radio both in the UK and the US, gaining huge support from BBC Introducing and Absolute Radio in London. His songs have also featured on primetime television for shows including Pretty Little Liars, Midnight In Texas, Elementary, Rise, Baywatch, Gray’s Anatomy and Teen Mom. Johnny now enters the mainstream in 2019 with “Somebody New” and plans to unleash a handful of singles in the upcoming year. As a session musician, he has played for various sessions and artists including Kian Egan (Westlife), Shane Filan (Westlife), X-Factor, Fender guitars, Guy Chambers (Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Busted) and Misha B. His voice was also used for the production of Outputs Exhale recording plugin which features on many Top Billboard albums including Justin Timberlake’s Man Of The Woods. Johnny now also plays for modern rock duo Kid Giant. According to British Airways and American Airlines inflight entertainment their debut EP ranks in the Top 25 most streamed releases alongside Adele, George Ezra and Muse. Their debut EP was recorded with Mikal Blue (One Republic, Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat). Their single “This is Home” features John Waugh of The 1975.
