The Pop duo Dusky Grey surprised us with an amazing Pop gem titled, “Get Easy”. The minute we heard this track we couldn’t get it out of our heads anymore. The chorus of this track is an enjoyable and beautiful hook. “Get Easy”, is definitely a great choice to put it on the repeat. We have enjoyed listening to their vocals until the last second. The lyrics are catchy and original and their vocal performance is professional which shows how talented and skillful they are. This track was definitely a great experience for our team!
WHAT THE DUO SAYS ABOUT THIS SONG:
Speaking about their latest release, the band’s Catty Hopkins said, “This song is so special to us. We wrote it when we had just entered the music industry. It’s about that feeling when you’re young and you want to be yourself so badly but you also want to fit in with everyone else.”
While bandmate Gethin Williams added, “We wrote it immediately after a party we went to. We met up with our co-writer James Earp – who’s really become an industry father to us – and told him about how we wanted to go out and dance but the vibe was completely off. No one was on the dancefloor and no one really seemed to be having a good time at all, so we came together and tried to forget about what everyone else was doing.”
ABOUT THE DUO:
Dusky Grey are Welsh pop duo Catrin Hopkins and Gethin Williams. They have just signed a new record deal with Parlophone Records, both Gethin and Catty saw this as the perfect time to throw themselves into new material, focusing on creating the type of music they would of wanted to hear when they were younger: pop music for the outsider. The news follows an already impressive past 12 months for the duo, whose first single ‘Told Me’ was discovered by Warner Music via a Spotify Discovery playlist and now has over 12 million streams globally. Catty and Gethin’s musical rise has been somewhat stratospheric with their debut ‘Communication’ EP gaining over 30 million streams, selling out their first headline show at London’s Camden Assembly and playlist support from the likes of Apple Music, Spotify as well as BBC Radio 1 naming the last single ‘Call Me Over’ its Track of the Week.
