“Tennessee” from The Great Palumbo is a piece of art. This song is one of the most wonderful songs we have heard in months. This band’s tunes and melodies are so beautiful and definitely unique. This song is one of those rare songs that take you into a wonderful journey. The singing voice is a piece of heaven, it’s charming and rich and the production sounds very professional. The lyrics are original and to be honest with you we couldn’t get them out of our heads anymore.
ABOUT THE BAND:
The seeds of The Great Palumbo were sown over the course of years spent songwriting, playing shows, collaborating, and recording in relative obscurity within Nashville’s burgeoning independent music scene. The project centers around Peter Campbell, Will Stevens, and Harrison Hall, but also enjoys support from a rotating cast of other Nashville-based musicians and producers who help bring each song to life.
In February 2019, The Great Palumbo’s driving, choral debut single, “Falling” was released. The following months would see them put out additional singles, ultimately culminating in the release of their debut EP: “Into the Dark.” A thoughtful blend of rock, folk, and pop elements, “Into The Dark” explores the themes of belonging, spiritual belief, and the relationship between them. Already having amassed almost 500,000 streams on Spotify, this body of releases has seen substantial traction online, prompting one local music writer to comment “The Great Palumbo have oriented themselves onto a path primed to skip the mid-cap rooms and go straight to the topline.” (Now/It’s)
Throughout 2019, when the boys in The Great Palumbo weren’t busy playing shows or releasing music, they were back in the studio, working towards an eventful 2020. February saw the release of their first single of the year, “Lover on the Run,” followed in April by their sophomore release “Let Me Down,” and in May by their homage to Music City, “Tennessee.”
