The vocal performance of Lauren is very unique and very wonderful and she really knows how to grabbe you to love her catchy music. The melodies and the beautiful piano tunes in this record are very creative and very unique, and definitely harmonies well with Lauren’s voice which puts you into a wonderful atmosphere. Now we think it safe to say that Cheers To The Vikings’ team are a new fan of Lauren Aquilina’s songs.
WHAT THE ARTIST SAYS ABOUT THIS SONG:
“I co-wrote this track with Adam Argyle. The message is very personal but also feels profoundly political in the current world, everyone can relate to that moment where they feel that maybe life would be easier if they could simply be more of a villain. ‘Bad People’ was co-produced by my frequent collaborators Lostboy and Marcus Andersson. “
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Bristol-born vocalist and songwriter Lauren Aquilina found her start with her honest songwriting, piano-led ballads and a loyal fanbase who stuck with her through a trilogy of formative EPs. Supported by BBC Introducing, The Line Of Best Fit, Popjustice, The Independent, among other tastemakers, this chapter of her career saw her hand-picked by Taylor Swift as an opener for the 1989 tour and culminated in the release of her debut album ‘Isn’t It Strange’ through Island Records in 2016.
Following the release of the album and an open struggle with depression, Aquilina decided to put her career as an artist to one side, and focus on life as a songwriter. During her first year of writing for others, she co-wrote American singer/songwriter Fletcher’s single “I Believe You” which was inspired by her own #MeToo experiences, and has been working alongside some of pop’s hottest names including Little Mix, BloodPop, Grey, Kiiara, and Rina Sawayama.
