“We all feel that need to grow, and we struggle against the nostalgia, the want for belonging and comfort that tries to hold us back. But our dreams are out there, beyond the egg shell that keeps us safe but also keeps us small. Layer by layer we fight through and discard our old self, to be reborn anew, vibrantly more powerful than before.”
ABOUT THE DUO:
From the ancient Saxon capital of Dresden, Germany comes a music that is profound, otherworldly and unpredictably edgy. Enigmatic indie duo I WANT POETRY combine into a harmonious whole what may at first glance seem contradictory, their music emerging out of a stylistic no-man’s-land where modern Indie Pop, ethereal Ambient elements and dramatic neoclassical influences smash and blend into something entirely new.
I WANT POETRY are Tine (vocals) und Till Moritz (keys). Music blog Uberrock (UK) describes their sound as „Warmly familiar yet hauntingly crucial“.
The band has been touring Germany, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. They have played more than 200 shows and were awarded “Best Alternative Band 2016” at the German Rock & Pop Awards for their live performance.
The duo is currently working on their second album “Human Touch”, to be released in fall 2020. They are currently on tour.
