ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Suzanne “Suzie” Chism is a songwriter, vocalist, guitarist, and producer based in Los Angeles. Originally from Yerington, Nevada, Chism studied vocal performance at the University of Nevada, Reno before recording a duet-style project with ‘90s hitmaker Edwin McCain (“I’ll Be,” “I Could Not Ask for More”), which influenced her relocation to Nashville, Tennessee in 2010. Crossing many genres, this witty songwriter founded the rock group Moseley in 2013. Moseley shared the stage with the Counting Crows, Black Stone Cherry and the Whigs and toured internationally with the rap artist Yelawolf. Chism recorded and toured internationally with Fefe Dobson, during which time Moseley was given the opportunity to record their album with producer Jay Joyce (Cage the Elephant, Eric Church, Iggy Pop, Halestorm, The Wallflowers), which piqued Chism’s interest in production work.
After nearly a decade in Nashville, Chism moved to Los Angeles in 2018 to focus on her career as a solo artist and producer. Chism is currently readying the release of the singles “Five Minute Face” and “Talkers” from her solo debut album Where. The album was primarily recorded in Chism’s Hollywood apartment but boasts an all-star lineup of guest players including Chuck Bartels (Sturgill Simpson) and Jesse Stern (Gloria Gaynor, Sly Stone, Dr. Dre) and engineering/mixing by Eddie Spear (Brandi Carlile, A Star Is Born), F. Reid Shippen (Dierks Bentley, Kelsea Ballerini), Paul Cossette (Sturgill Simpson, FIDLAR, The Head and the Heart) and Zack Pancoast (Kasey Musgraves, Willie Nelson). Where is slated for release in March 2020 and will be accompanied by an intimate documentary film, Where the Heaven, which follows the album’s production and Chism’s daily life.
